We made history.
The European Championships were successfully hosted and we would like to add a few words, especially addressing our athletes and helpers.
We are proud of the 5 gold medals achieved by our Vanessa Bittern, proud of the top 10 results of our Austrian athletes, not to forget Austria is a tiny nation but about to keep up with the world’s strongest speed skating nations. Also, the feedback we got from teams, athletes, and the CEC were more than just positive.
Grateful we look back at the successful event on the highest level in Wörgl. Even though the road track was considered sceptically by team leaders and speed skaters at the beginning, everything went by really good. Also, the marathon route was well-received by the participants and teams.
The organization and execution was outstanding. At this point we would like to thank Turnerschaft Innsbruck for helping with building and catering. Also, special thanks to the helpers from Wörgl and all volunteers, which were responsible that this event turned out that amazing and unforgettable!
Thanks to all involved parties for the solid cooperation, the high quality achieved the commitment, outstanding flexibility and the courage to be part of the European Championships held in Wörgl.
Today we look back at the event as a great example of what can be done and achieved when everyone is pulling together.
Only together we can succeed. In the name of the Speed skating sports, we not only tried to push the popularity here in Austria but also to be a good role model in professional execution of Championships within Europe and beyond.

Die EM in Wörgl, Innsbruck OWI und Innsbruck Rossau ist Geschichte.
Das Ergebnis mit den 5 Goldmedaillen von Vanessa, weiteren Top 10 Platzierungen der übrigen österreichischen Athleten, für so eine kleine Nation, mehr als hervorragend.
Die Feedbacks der Nationen, Athleten und der CEC waren und sind sehr positiv: „eine tolle Veranstaltung!“
Eine tolle Veranstaltung auf höchstem vorstellbarem Niveau in Wörgl, eine nach anfänglicher Skepsis der Mannschaftsführer und Athleten doch gut angenommenem Straßenkurs an der OWI und einer sehr schnellen und sicheren Marathonstrecke die den Athleten sehr gefallen hat.
Die Organisation und Durchführung war besonders herausfordernd, vielen Dank an die Turnerschaft Innsbruck die den Aufbau und die Verpflegung in Innsbruck übernommen haben und an das Helferteam aus Wörgl und an unsere Volontäre, die alle für dieser EM einen tollen Rahmen erarbeiten konnten und zum Gesamterfolg sehr viel beitragen haben.
Wir sagen „Danke“ an alle Mitwirkenden für die großartige Zusammenarbeit, die hohe Qualität, dem Einsatz, die außerordentliche Flexibilität, den Mut bei diesem Event mitzuarbeiten, Verantwortung zu übernehmen und bis zu 16 Stunden pro Tag freiwillig zu arbeiten.
Sowohl die Vorbereitung als auch die Durchführung der EM war ein Beispiel dafür, was erreicht werden kann, wenn alle gemeinsam an einem Strang ziehen und sich gegenseitig unterstützen, um das gemeinsame Ziel zu erreichen: „den Inlinesport in Österreich ein weiteres Stück näher an die europäische Spitze heranzuführen, den Inlinesport weltweit weiter zu entwickeln und populärer zu machen!“
Dafür nochmals ein großes DANKE an alle Mitwirkenden.
